Instructions

Decorating For a Monkey Party

1. Create a jungle atmosphere by covering the entrance to the party with brown and green crepe paper vines. Guests will know they are entering the jungle area as they pass through. Hang vines around the party room as well.

2. Make simple jungle trees by filling green balloons with helium. Tie with brown or black curling ribbon and attach to a base. Guests can walk through these balloon trees to enhance the jungle feel.

3. Populate your jungle with inflatable monkeys. These can be bought by the dozen at party supply sites. Using one jumbo monkey at the entrance can wow your guests. Later, these inflatables can become party favors for the guests.

4. Make your jungle even more dense with inflatable palm trees or hanging shimmering palm trees. An inflatable palm tree can also be practical since one is available for purchase with a drink cooler as the base (see orientaltrading.com).

5. Drape a dark green cloth over the food table and use monkey-themed napkins, plates, and utensils.

6. Decorate the food table even more with monkey cups, palm tree and monkey toothpicks in cheese cubes or sandwiches, and a monkey cake or cupcakes. Add a fruit centerpiece with bananas and oranges.

7. Hang a monkey pinata at the party and fill with small monkey-themed prizes such as bubbles, tattoos. playing card sets and other novelty toys. These can be bough in bulk at party supply stores or websites.
