Hotels Near Lahaina Hawaii

Maui's spectacular beaches and mild climate make it a favorite vacation spot.

Lahaina was a capital of Hawaiian kings and became a Yankee whaling port during the 19th century. Now it is one of the island of Maui's premiere resort areas and home to some of its top hotels. Lahaina town brings vacationers out of their hotels to explore shops, galleries and nightlife or to board humpback whale cruises along the Maui Channel.

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa

Guests never need to leave the grounds of the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa. The Spa Moana books fitness training and treatments like couples massage, facials and healing wraps. At night the conch shells sound for the start of the Drums of the Pacific Lu'au, which features traditional music, dances and native foods at the all-you-can-eat buffet. Children explore Hawaiian culture, sports, art and nature at Camp Hyatt Ka'anapali. The hotel's rooftop astronomy program lets visitors view the stars through clear skies. Ka'anapali Golf has brought professional events and amateur golfers to the Hyatt since 1962, and the hotel also has championship tennis courts. Flamingos, penguins, parrots and swans live on the grounds, and wildlife tours are given three times per week. The free-form swimming pools, lava tube water slide and swim-up Grotto Bar draw visitors from around the world. Many rooms overlook the water, and oceanside dining is just one of the hotel's many culinary options.

Outrigger Aina Nalu

An Ascend Collection hotel in the Choice Hotels family, the Outrigger Aina Nalu is located in the center of Lahaina town but near Kaanapali Beach and Kapalua Bay. The 100 percent smoke-free hotel has a palm-tree lined outdoor pool and hot tub, picnic area, sun deck and yoga. The tour and concierge desks help visitors book excursions outside the hotel. Condominium units come with all the hotel's regular amenities plus kitchen facilities.

Ka'anapali Beach Hotel

The Ka'anapali Beach Hotel occupies 11 acres along Kaanapali Beach and is set amongst tropical gardens. Hawaiian quilt design bedspreads and tropical furnishings make guests feel like they are in a local home. Hotel dining reflects the multi-ethnic flavors of the islands, with Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Portuguese and continental American foods. The hotel houses the Kupanaha, a dinner theater magic show. The show couples magic tricks and illusions with hula costumes and Polynesian dances. The Ohana Land Center helps hotel guests arrange tours to Haleaka Volcano and other regional sites, or guests can remain on the property and use the swimming pool, spa and salon.

Lahaina Inn

Travelers seeking a small, boutique hotel can consider the Lahaina Inn, whose history dates back to the early 1900s and is reflected in its classical island plantation architecture. Antique furniture and modern conveniences grace each of the 10 guestrooms and three suites. Each room comes with a lanai deck and rocking chairs. Complimentary pastries and coffee service greet guests each morning in the lobby. Guests may use the tennis courts at the Royal Lahaina Resort, the inn's larger sister property.
