Transportation costs money as well, so price will play a role in deciding where to stay and what to do in an expensive city like Paris.

Four-star hotels tend to be more expensive than three or two-star hotels, but four-star hotels give more quality for more money. Many hotels offer packages that include Eiffel Tower tours, free tickets for events and other goings-on around the city that take the planning out of the hands of the traveler. For those that desire a more typically Parisian-style stay, bed-and-breakfasts or hotels off the beaten path of the city often give travelers a better sense of how the French live than do large, non-distinct metropolitan hotels.
