Solve your film problem with a quick fix.
A common cause for white film on glasses is hard water. Hard water has high levels of minerals suspended in the water. As the water washes past the dishes, those minerals land on their surface resulting in a white film. This film is largely basic in nature. Since soap is also basic, it has a tough time removing it. To get the job done, you need a weak acid. However, this is just a quick fix. Adjusting the settings in your dishwasher will solve the problem for good. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Pour 2 cups of white vinegar into a dishwasher-safe cup or bowl, ideally one with hard water white film.
2. Place the vinegar in the dishwasher with the dishes that have the white film. Run the dishwasher through its shortest washing cycle and air drying option. Do not add detergent.
3. Check on the dishes. The hard water film should be removed from your dishes and the walls of your dishwasher.
