Creating and printing your own invitations ensures you get the correct time, place and other information while controlling the theme. Winnie the Pooh--themed invitations are great for kids' birthday parties. They appeal to children and give valuable information to guests so that they may attend. You can get creative with the layout of the invitation, the pictures or drawings on the invitations, the paper you print them on and the postage you adhere to them.
Instructions
1. Open Microsoft Publisher. In the column on the left choose "Invitations." Choose from the list of templates it offers. If you don't have Microsoft Publisher, a regular word processing program will work. Divide the word document into four equal boxes by clicking on the line option and drawing a line down the middle of the paper from top to bottom. Draw another line from the midpoint on the left to the midpoint on the right side of the paper.
2. See the Resources section for some Winnie the Pooh pictures you might want to use. Right-click on the one you want to use and copy it. Paste it into your invitation document. If you'd rather draw your own Winnie the Pooh, skip to step 3.
3. Open a drawing program. Create an oval. Draw a smaller oval perpendicular to your first oval and two-thirds down from the top of the first oval. This is your outline of the face. Put two half-ovals on top of the first oval for ears. Put two small circles just above the second oval for eyes. Add some curved lines above the circles for eyebrows. Add an oval about the size of the eye circles just below the eyes for the nose. Add a large half-circle near the bottom of the large ovals for the smile. Insert the picture into your invitation.
4. Type in the name of the party or what type of party it is, the time for the party and the address. Include directions on get to the address. Add some information about what to bring, if guests need to bring anything. Add your contact information. Change the fonts of your type to your liking. Copy and paste more pictures into the invitation if you want more.
5. Print the invitations. If you used Microsoft Publisher, they will print out as invitations. If you used the word processing program, print it out. Fold it in half heightwise, then fold it again widthwise. See the Tips section for the layout of the boxes and what part of the invitation they become after you fold it.
