Design Invites

Do you have the perfect party in mind just waiting to come to fruition? Besides all the food, decorations and activities, the top of the priority list is going to be who to invite. The invitation should reflect exactly what the guests should expect. Be sure to include directions and save yourself time with guests busying up your phone line asking questions. An artistic yet appropriately informative invitation is the key to a successful party. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Party Time!

1. Start by writing down all of the information you need to include on the invitation. Be sure that you tell your guests dress for the party, what you need them to bring and get there. Print driving directions to include in your invitation, and staple them to the cards after they are finished.

2. Come up with a theme for your party and translate that onto the card. If you are having a costume party, you can draw a picture of a costume concept. Draw a girl wearing a French maid costume and a man in a butler's tuxedo holding a tray with the Eiffel Tower in the background. You could draw a vampire couple taking a walk in a grave yard with the full moon. Come up with an idea.

3. Lets suppose you chose the "vampire idea" or some variation on this theme. Use some red waxy paint to draw some blood where the RSVP would go. You can threaten your guests with some fangs on the bottom corner, letting them know they will be haunted if they do not RSVP. The idea is to entice and invite them to come. Have fun with this; the sky is the limit. If you need simple ideas, check out the link below for e-cards that can be used as a starting point for inspiration.

4. After you have drawn something creepy or cute, its time to put the final touches on the invite. Be sure to address the envelope and attach the proper postage.

5. Software programs are available that come with stock designs that can be customized. If you have Illustrator installed on your computer, you can play with shapes and color and perhaps incorporate some designs from a book or the Internet.
