You'll be the envy of every couple!
Have your plans for your wife's birthday ever flopped? Do you wonder what to get her that she will actually like? Do you want to make every other husband you know look like a jerk? Then follow my simple steps to celebrate your favorite woman's next birthday. Almost all these ideas will work equally well with a girlfriend.
Instructions
1. Figure out when her birthday is. You will need at least a few weeks to prepare these steps, so start early. The celebration is going to start at least two weeks before her actual birthday. Then using the following steps as a guide to come up with birthday gift ideas, create at least 14 different gifts for your wife and give her one each day, starting small and getting bigger, culminating on her actual birthday.
2. If your wife has an email address, sign her up for an email-a-day service. There are many out there for famous quotes, inspirational thoughts, jokes, recipes, you name it. Pick one or two that are geared to her interests. Also, join an e-card service using their 30 day free introductory offer. Send her an e-card every day you give her a gift, and tailor it to what you are giving her. These services allow you to pick cards with songs, your own videos or pictures, and you can pick the days ahead of time. Then, after her birthday, quit the service and it didn't cost you a thing.
3. Buy some warming massage oil, and give her a massage one day when you think she'll really need it.
4. Plan a trip for her and arrange for kids to be taken care of. Pick somewhere you've always wanted to go. Choose the hotels, the itineraries, and destinations. Choose a method of travel you normally wouldn't (think romantic train trip) rather than car or airline. This can all be done online. Send all the details to her via email. You can pick the dates and times at a later date, but all she has to do is pack her bag.
5. Sign up with a free online game playing service for a game you both like to play. Then invite her via email. You each play a turn whenever you get an email and you get to enjoy a little break in your busy schedule.
6. Buy two copies of a popular relationship book. Give her one and keep one yourself. Read through it together. Every couple can benefit from the ideas. Repair a strained relationship or strengthen a good one. You are giving her the gift of your time.
7. Buy her lingerie, but make sure it is something she will wear. Go on a secret panty raid and see what she already owns. Write down the sizes, then order something like it, but a little sexier from your local lingerie shop. If it's too embarrassing, order online and get it shipped discretely. Lay it with a sexy note where she'll find it when she's changing clothes in the evening.
8. Bake her something. Make it from scratch. If you're not a whiz in the kitchen, choose an easy recipe like cookies, or fudge made from chocolate, sweetened condensed milk and throw in her favorite nuts, cranberries, or raisins.
9. Buy two copies of a book in a genre she likes (hopefully you do too). Read it together a chapter a day. If you want to be even more romantic (but time consuming) buy one book and take turns reading to each other (hopefully while she snuggles in bed with you in the lingerie you bought her).
10. Buy her some pieces of jewelry. Once again, see what she already has and buy pieces that reflect her taste. You don't have to spend a lot of money. Put them near her other jewelry with a romantic note - "Your eyes are all the sparkling jewelry you need, but these earrings caught me eye."
11. Have a family picture taken. If you are an amateur photographer, take them yourself with a tripod when she's not around. If you want to spend the money, go to a professional. Have the results printed out and framed in your local photo store or online. Put the photo on the wall or her dresser and let her find it.
12. Fix something around the house that you've been putting off or that she's been nagging you about. Arrange a situation so she will notice it has been fixed, but let her realize without you telling her.
13. Make her a mix CD. Remember how awesomely romantic it was to get a mix-tape? You can recreate that feeling quickly and cheaply using iTunes. Fill the CD with some of her favorites and new songs in the same genres. Then take it one step further by finding the lyrics to all the songs online, cut and paste them into a document, then add your own comments about why you picked the song and how the lyrics reminded you of her.
14. Buy a plant, flower or tree that symbolizes her or the two of you (evergreen for forever love). Plant it in a pot in your home or in your yard and let her find it.
15. Make a video or slideshow set to music of photos or videos from your life together. Pick them from your digital photos or scan them from printed ones. You can do this easily on most home computers, but if you don't know how or don't have the time, there are many online services or local photo shops who can do this easily.
16. Give her the gift of yourself. Tell her something you've never told her before, whether it's a secret you've always held, a lie you've been hiding, a dream you've been afraid to tell her, or a fantasy you never think will come true.
17.Write her a song. It doesn't have to be good or long. Just make it about her. If you are musically inclined, set it to music with your chosen instrument. If not, sing it acapella. If it is too embarrassing to do it in person, record it and send it via email or burn it to CD and put it in her car stereo.
