Countless hotels on Oahu have impressive amenities, but perhaps none are as desired as a room overlooking the famous Waikiki surf. If you are planning a trip to Oahu, you are in luck, as finding a room with a view is quite easy -- although it will most likely come at a premium.
Sheraton Waikiki
The Sheraton Waikiki Hotel underwent a $187 million dollar renovation in 2009, and offers oceanfront views from 80 percent of its 1,634 guest rooms and suites. More than two-thirds of the rooms directly face the Pacific. The Sheraton Waikiki's amenities include RumFire, a beachfront nightclub; and an infinity pool for adults only, featuring entertainment by Hawaiian musicians. The hotel also offers Twist at Hanohano, Waikiki's highest restaurant, and the Ho'okipa Activity Center, with freshwater swimming pools and a 70-foot long water slide.
Aqua Hotels and Resorts
Aqua Hotels & Resorts offers 12 boutique Oahu hotels. Its Aqua Palms & Spa hotel is located across the street from the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Waikiki Beach. Most of the property's rooms feature private lanais with views of the ocean and Diamond Head. At the Waikiki Beachside, "sweeping ocean views are the star from nearly all the comfortable, Asian-inspired rooms of our Waikiki Beach-fronting hotel." The Aqua Waikiki Wave hotel also offers partial ocean views from many rooms. Aqua Hotels and Resorts' 44-story Island Colony hotel is the tallest building in Waikiki, so you can enjoy ocean and mountain views.
Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki
Located on the Diamond Head end of Waikiki, the smoke-free Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki features 450 rooms and a wide range of accommodations, including studios with kitchenettes and ocean-view rooms. The hotel is one block from Waikiki Beach and a short walk from Kapiolani Park, Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium. All rooms have a private lanai.
Turtle Bay Resort
Turtle Bay Resort is located on Oahu's North Shore and features 375 guest rooms that provide a luxurious Hawaiian retreat on North Shore Oahu. Turtle Bay says that all of its guest rooms boast "beautiful views of the ocean and resort." The resort's premium and deluxe rooms offer a private lanai. The luxury property also offers 31 suites with views of the Pacific Ocean and the resort.
