Eat Healthy At Disney World

With hundreds of restaurants and food stands scattered throughout the park, it's easy to overindulge at Disney World and ruin your diet after just one meal. However, there are still healthy options available at almost every venue when you know what to look for. From fruit cups to grilled chicken sandwiches, here's eat healthy at Disney World.

Instructions

1. Choose a salad as an entree. Most Disney World restaurants feature at least one mixed green salad with chicken or beef; order these with dressing on the side for a lowfat and healthy meal.

2. Try a yogurt smoothie. Many of the food carts and vendors around the park serve soda and juice along with fresh yogurt smoothies. Enjoy one of these when you need an afternoon pick-me-up.

3. Order a vegetarian soup or apppetizer as part of the main course. From Vegetarian Minestrone at Mama Melrose's (Disney MGM-Studios) to the Stewed Mushrooms appetizer at Rose and Crown Pub (Epcot), look at the appetizer menu first for some vegetable-based menu items.

4. Reach for the turkey sandwich. Almost every restaurant at Disney World serves some form of a simple turkey sandwich. If all else fails, just ask the server if they can prepare one for you! Hold the mayo and enjoy it on whole wheat bread for a nutritious and healthy meal.

5. Enjoy sugar-free cheesecake for dessert. If you must have dessert with your meal, ask about sugar-free options; the cheesecake is available at most restaurants around the parks, and can be a real treat if you're watching your diet.

6. Always order salads with dressing on the side and bread without butter. This will help you trim the calories and fat with ease; you can also ask about any fat-free dressing or sauce options available.

7. Review menus online. If you know where you'll be dining before you get to the parks, take a look at the menus on AllEars.net. This site lists all of the latest menus at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, as well as Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk.
