Choose A Cool Party Theme

Deciding a theme for a party can be tricky - especially since trends seem to change every other day. Have no fear, because with attitude and confidence in your decision making abilities, choosing a cool party theme can be a breeze. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Find what’s hot. This means paying attention to what is generally considered hot both today and possibly in the near future. Think about what themes seem the most appealing to you and your guests. The consequences of thinking about your guests' wishes as well as your own will only help spur a good reception to your party.

2. Do some recon for ideas from other people. Ideas for cool party themes may come from the most unlikely places. Make a concerted effort to just look around and you may find that you are able to glean ideas from what you observe. Visiting party stores and some edgy shops will ensure that you have many choices for possible cool party themes.

3. Revisit the past. If you have gone to some cool parties in the past, taking a note or two from that experience is completely acceptable in this instance. Some concepts, such as toga parties or musically themed parties, never go out of style. These types of parties should always be revisited in order to gain some helpful hints.

4. Ask a friend’s opinion. Some of your guests may have good ideas for your party that could help kick it up a notch. The overall choices however should remain yours. Visualizing the atmosphere and environment you would like to create can eliminate some unnecessary steps in the choice process. More than one opinion can also add some fresh perspective when choosing a cool party theme.

5. Make a creative choice. Cool is all in the eye of the beholder and has more to do with presentation and perception than what is considered "in." If you are confident on the cool status of your party and the decorations, environment and music reflect that and others will follow suit. Adding details such as a consistent color scheme (including the food, via food coloring) can give the party even more pop.
