What is Hollywood hair? A hairstyle so stylish and becoming that it looks like it belongs to a Hollywood star. The steps for turning ordinary locks into an admirable style are easy. These steps--detailed by the hair stylist of Chris Isaak, Christy Turlington, Tracy Lords and Kurt Cobain--will yield results that will make you starry eyed! Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Obtain a haircut and color that compliments your face and skin. Stylists are artists and are trained to emphasize your best facial features and match your facial shape with a particularly flattering cut. If a stylist recommends color, it will be a color he or she feels compliments your skin tones (generally, lighter as a person grows older). Haircuts and hair color are personal choices, so talk to stylist and discuss particulars, such as, "I love my natural gray hair, but want a modern cut."
2. Use a shampoo for your hair type. Next, choose a hair foundation: a leave in conditioner or tonic lotion. Begin application in the back (where hair is the heaviest), working it in evenly over hair. Comb the foundation throughout the hair. Proper application is very important. A glossy foundation (as opposed to matte or satin) is usually the most glamorous.
3. Blow air down the hair shaft for a more sleek effect, if you dry your hair into a style. Dry the roots in all directions for the most movement and bounce. Use one brush from start to finish. A handmade brush is best; for more bend, try a handmade round brush, which looks like it has a wave in the middle of its head. While drying, be sure to control the ends of the hair.
4. Use a straightening iron, curling iron or hot rollers, if appropriate, for the style. Of course, many options are available for further styling, including extensions, partial wigs and hair accessories.
5. Spray your style to hold it. Pick a hairspray which suits your needs; light, medium or heavy hold.
6. Consider topping off your style with some sunglasses that compliment your face shape; for example, aviator style sunglasses compliment an oval face shape. With your Hollywood hair and shades, a fun, truly glamorous effect can be achieved.
