Nude beaches are increasing in popularity. Many people enjoy the freedom of sunbathing without clothing. If you're planning to visit Hawaii, follow these steps to find a nude beach on the Big Island.
Instructions
1. Honokohau Harbor Beach is within the Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park on the Kona Coast. You'll find it just off Highway 19, north of Honolokohau Harbor. Many nudists sunbathe here, but remember that public nudity of any kind is illegal in Hawaii. If the park rangers catch you sans clothes, they will issue a citation.
2. You'll find Steam Vents off Highway 130 at mile Marker 15 near Hilo. Natural caves housing clothing-optional steam baths are the lure here. The nearby Steamvent Guesthouse also boasts a clothing-optional policy.
3. Visit Kehena Beach, or Dolphin Beach as the locals call it, You will find it on the Hilo side of the Puna district, off Highway 137. Known across the island for its black sand, Dolphin Beach's foliage offers nude sunbathers a bit of privacy.
