Decorate Your Room With A Jurassic Park Theme

Even though it was released in 1993, the hit science-fiction movie Jurassic Park still remains popular today. The movie has been transformed into toys, clothes, rides and even spawned two sequels, The Lost World and Jurassic Park 3. With a little work, you can transform any bedroom into a Jurassic Park-themed room to help celebrate this landmark film. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Walls. To start the room, you need to focus on a jungle theme. Paint the walls with a dark green base and know that this may take a couple of coats to really get the nice dark green color. Keep the wall as it is or add on hand-painted dinosaur pictures starting with a simple stencil and then adding the necessary details with finer paint brushes.

2. Posters. To help make it an official Jurassic Park room, put up framed posters from any of the three Jurassic Park movies. The best poster is the original, a yellow outline of a T-Rex skull with the famous Jurassic Park font. It is simple and effective and a great addition to the room.

3. Jungle. To add a more authentic jungle look to the room, add fake vines and shrubbery. They can be found at many craft stores and even big stores like Wal-Mart and Target. Staple them to the walls or rig them from the ceiling, but do not overdo it because then you may not have a lot of area left in the room.

4. Toys. The world of Jurassic Park has been recreated into a wide selection of Jurassic Park toys and playsets. New sets are not really created anymore, but searching yard sales, flea markets, and websites like eBay can offer a lot of Jurassic Park toys and memorabilia.

5. Display. You can set up a shelf to recreate a famous scene form the movie or just have a toy box so children can play with them and create their own scenes. All of the main characters have been turned into action figures and many dinosaur species have been recreated as well.

6. Sounds. To make the room even more authentic, adding sounds in will make you feel even more like you are a part of the dinosaur environment. There are two easy ways to do this. The first is by getting a comfort sound machine. With this machine you can select a variety of sounds like a waterfall, rain, wildlife and thunderstorms. They would all fit in and represent scenes of the movie well. The second way of putting sound into a Jurassic Park bedroom is by purchasing the Jurassic Park soundtrack. The songs by John Williams will bring the feeling and emotion right out of the movie and into the room.
