You can decorate your table to enhance your beach-theme decor.
The sound of the waves, the warm sand on your feet and the sun beating down on your skin all set the mood for a relaxing and tranquil beach experience. Not everyone lives near a beach but it is possible to bring a bit of the beach indoors. You may opt for a beach-themed party or simply decorate your entire dining room in an ocean or beach theme. Either way, the decorations for the table are an important part of the planning process.
Instructions
1. Place a blue tablecloth on your table. Try to find one with varying tones of blues throughout the cloth to make it look more like the ocean.
2. Sprinkle a small amount of sand on the table before adding any decorations. Keep the sand near the center of the tablecloth so that it does not get in the way of diners at the table.
3. Purchase a small beach pail and place it in the center of the table. If you are decorating your table to celebrate a special occasion, use paint pens to write "Happy Birthday" or "Congratulations" on the pail. Fill it with food items such as candy or breadsticks and use this as your table's centerpiece.
4. Purchase or collect a variety of seashells and place them on top of the sand. Scatter them in a way that is pleasing to the eye.
5. Sprinkle confetti on your beach-themed table. For example, choose confetti with beach pails, umbrellas or sea life.
6. Set your table with tan colored dishes to simulate the sand. Use napkins printed with beach images to complete the look.
7. Place a pair of inexpensive sunglasses on each guest's plate prior to the start of the meal as a take-home favor from your dinner party. Select a pair of sunglasses for each guest based on his personality or interests. For example, if you have a guest who is always silly, choose crazy and fun sunglasses for her. Allow guests to guess their seat at the table by guessing which pair of sunglasses you chose to represent them.
