Design A Birthday Invitation Template

Design a birthday invitation on your computer.

If you are planning to throw a birthday party soon, consider making your own party invitations. Once you make one birthday invitation, you can save your design and use it as a template for future party invitations. You need a word processing program for a basic template.

Instructions

1. Consult invitation templates provided in your word processing document library. For example, Microsoft Office provides an invitation template, which fits on one page, that you can print out and use as a model to design your own invitation.

2. Decide on the dimensions of your invitation. You may want to make your invitation postcard-size, so that you can save on postage and envelopes. Or make it the size of a standard sheet of paper to make it easy to print.

3. Draw a text box that takes up the first half of the word processing document. Then, select a background color by clicking on one of the color boxes on the tool bar of your word processing document. Change the color of your font and the type of your font by clicking on the "Home" tab, where the font details are located.

4. Type a birthday invitiation message that includes a greeting and the information for the day, time and location of the party. Do not forget information on how and to whom to RSVP.

5. Add clip art or a photo as an optional design element. You can do this by clicking on the "Insert" tab on your word processing document and selecting the "Picture" or "Clip Art" button.
