Cut & Paste Pictures

Cutting and pasting a picture on a computer differs from copying and pasting in that cutting removes the picture from its original location. In either case, you can paste the picture to a new location in a document or to a different file. Since cutting removes the picture, you can only cut pictures if you have the ability to change the file. For instance, pictures found online can't be cut but can be copied. You can cut pictures from your own documents on your computer.

Instructions

1. Open a word processing document or some other file that contains the picture that you want to cut.

2. Right-click on the picture with your mouse. This will open a drop-down menu. Select "Cut" from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you may select the picture and press the "Ctrl" and "X" keys simultaneously to cut it. The picture should disappear from the file.

3. Go to the location where you would like to paste your picture, whether it's somewhere else in the same document or a different file. If it's a different file, open that file.

4. Right-click in the location where you want to place your picture and select "Paste" from the menu that appears. Alternatively, just click on the location and then press your "Ctrl" and "V" keys simultaneously to paste your picture.
