Decorate A Kids' Luau Party

decorate a kids Luau party

Summer is the perfect time to host a kids' luau party. Whether for a birthday party or a casual get together for friends who are out of school for the summer, a luau offers a casual and fun theme. Ask the kids to wear Hawaiian shirts if they have them and add a few topical decorations to set the party mood. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Hand deliver cool luau party invitations. Fill clear plastic bottles with a little sand and a handwritten invitation to mimic a message in a bottle. If it's going to also be a pool party, ask the kids to dress in beachwear.

2. Dress a female guest of honor in a grass skirt and lei or outfit a guy in a Hawaiian shirt. Place leis around the necks of the guests as they arrive at the party.

3. Decorate with tropical tableware, plates, cups and forks. If the party extends into the evening, bamboo torches provide a tropical touch. Inflatable beach balls, stuffed monkeys and palm trees make good luau accents. Use pineapples and coconuts for centerpieces on any tables.

4. Put on some Hawaiian music and watch the kids have lots of fun.
