Decorate a Radio Flyer Wagon for a Wedding
Radio Flyer wagons are popular decorative items at Western-style weddings. Not only are they colorful and cute, but they can serve as a spot where many of the wedding's decorative elements are brought together. This serves to unify the decorative theme of the wedding and can be used at both indoor and outdoor weddings. Additionally, these wagons are easy to find throughout the U.S.
Instructions
Using a Radio Flyer Wagon as a Decorative Element in a Wedding
1. Line the wagon with the red checkered tablecloth. It should be bunched up a bit, so that it maintains a casual look. The idea behind this piece is to provide cushioning for some of the other items that will be placed inside the Radio Flyer.
2. Pin the two ends of the tablecloth closed with the two Sherriff's badges. This will keep the tablecloth snug in its place.
3. Wrap the stem of each of the glasses with at least one bandana. This will support the theme of the wedding but will also protect the glasses from damage. You may have to wrap more than one bandana around each glass.
4. Cut a very long piece of ribbon. It should be long enough to wrap around the bucket and the two champagne glasses.
5. Place the champagne glasses next to the bucket and then using the ribbon, fasten the glasses to the side of the bucket. You may have to wrap the ribbon around the bucket two or three times. Additionally, to ensure that the glasses stay in place, you'll probably have to loop the ends of the ribbon around the bucket's handle.
6. Set the bucket in the center of the wagon on top of the tablecloth. The bucket can be an antique tin pale or a wooden country bucket, but whatever you choose, it should fit the wedding's theme.
7. Arrange flowers and baby's breath inside the boots. The flowers should cascade down the sides of the boots. The boots can be old or new, but should be clean. You can also arrange some flowers on the floor of the wagon and on the sides as well.
8. Position the boots in the wagon on both sides of the bucket.
9. Pour ice into the bucket.
10. Add the bottles of champagne to the bucket. You can also place horseshoes and spurs in the bucket and on the sides for decoration.
11. Lean the "Just Hitched" sign against the front of the wagon.
12. Make a candle arrangement in front of and on the sides of the wagon. You'll want it to enhance the sign without covering it up. This will be your light source in the evening. You will want to make sure that they are not so close to the wagon to cause fire danger. A good solution for this is to use candles floating in water filled candle holders.
