Design & Print Your Own Place Cards And Wedding Invitations

Printing place cards and invitations on the computer is a simple matter.

The cost of printing wedding invitations at a professional print shop is more than many people are willing to pay for their wedding invitations and place cards. One of the easiest ways to save money during a wedding is to print the invitations and place cards yourself. Many websites offer beautiful templates for both invitations and place cards that make printing wedding invitations a breeze.

Instructions

Invitations

1. Determine what font, format and template you want to use for the invitations and place cards. Some websites will allow you to purchase a sample of the invitation, to see what it will look like in person.

2. Purchase the invitations and place cards. If you order them online, make sure to order at least two months before you need to mail the invitations.

3. Download an invitation and place card template, either in document writing format (.doc) or in PDF format (.pdf). Click on the name of the template on the website. Save the file to a wedding folder that you create on your computer.

4. Open the template and customize it with your wedding information. Place a blank sheet of paper in the printer and print a test page before you use the fancier wedding invitation paper. Check to make sure the margins are straight and that the words will fit on the invitation.

5. Print a test invitation on the wedding invitation paper. Make sure the words print on the correct side of the paper. Confirm with other party members of the wedding that this is how you want the invitations to look.

6. Place the rest of the invitations in the printer. Print the rest of the invitations. Assemble the invitations and mail out.

Place Cards

7. Open the place card software. Take all of the RSVP names that you received from responses to the invitations. Input the names of these guests into the document.

8. Place one sheet of place cards inside the printer. Make sure the paper is facing the right way. Print one page of place cards to make sure that lines are straight, ink does not smudge and that the words printed on the right side of the paper.

9. Check to make sure that all guest names are spelled correctly. Print the rest of the place cards and place in a box for safekeeping.
