Design Your Own Spongebob Birthday Invitations

Design Your Own Spongebob Birthday Invitations

SpongeBob Squarepants is one of the most popular cartoon characters of all time and children often choose to celebrate their birthday with a SpongeBob Squarepants theme. Instead of purchasing the standard party invitations, you can add some personalization and excitement to your child's with customized birthday invitations.

Instructions

1. Lay out the collection of yellow sponges across the table. These sponges do not have to fancy, the cheapest you can find and usually packaged in multiple of 3 or 5. Purchase as many for as many invitations that you need.

2. Cut out the white cardboard so that a piece measures the exact size of the sponge. Use the first as a stencil and repeat the process for the remaining invitations.

3. Cut out extra white cardboard pieces that are 1/3 the size of the sponge. Repeat this process until there is one piece for each sponge.

4. Glue the large pieces to the back of each sponge using the tacky glue. Lay the sponge down so that white cardboard is on the bottom and no glue soaks through the sponge. Let the cardboard dry for 2 minutes.

5. Glue the small pieces of cardboard to the bottom of the front of the sponge. This will create SpongeBob's shirt and pants that he wears on the show. Let the glue dry for 2 minutes.

6. Glue two large googly eyes to the face of SpongeBob. Use a picture for reference, but it will look fine as long as they are evenly spaced and placed towards the top of his head. Let the glue dry for 2 minutes.

7. Cut 2 pipe cleaners in half and use the four pieces to glue on arms and legs for SpongeBob. Yellow is the preferred color, but any color pipe cleaner will work fine for this project.

8. Use brown and black permanent markers to create SpongeBob's shirt and pants. He wears a white t-shirt with a black tie and brown pants. Use the black marker to draw in a long round nose and two buck teeth directly on the sponge's face.

9. Write the party and RSVP details on the white cardboard on the back of the sponge.
