Customize An Online Radio Station

The Pandora interface

Everyone has his own favorite style of music, and the playlists of local radio stations may not conform to it. Instead of relying on radio streaming online, which gives you no control over the music that is played, check out customizable online radio, wherein you can pick the music, give songs a thumbs-down and even create multiple stations. Here's use one such service.

Instructions

1. Visit Pandora (follow the link in Resources). Enter your name and zip code to get started.

2. Click on "Create a New Station" to enter the names of songs or artists you enjoy to form your own station. Select the correct song or band from the list and press "Add" to add the music to your station. You can also browse public stations created by other users to find selections that match your tastes by clicking "Browse other stations."

3. Interact as your online radio plays. Give your favorite songs a thumbs-up and songs you dislike the thumbs-down via the buttons on the album image. Add new songs or artists to your station by clicking on your station name and clicking "Add new music." Or ask the station to hold off on playing a particular song for a month by clicking on "Why are we playing this?", then on "Do not play again for a month."

4. Create additional stations to match your moods or preferences by clicking on "Create new station."

5. Share your stations with others or just enjoy them by yourself. You can share by clicking on your station name, then clicking "Share this station."
