Do Your Makeup Like In The 1920s

Bright cheeks and lips are part of the 1920s makeup style.

Throughout the centuries, women and sometimes men have tried to look more attractive by applying makeup to their faces. In the 1920's, the advent of motion pictures brought makeup solidly into popular culture, as women became inspired by actresses like Clara Bow. Whether looking for makeup to wear with a Flapper costume, or dressing for a play, 1920's makeup will make you look like you stepped back in time. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Pull your hair back with a headband or clip. Brush across your pale powder with your powder brush.

2. Sweep the pale face powder on your face using the brush. Swirl the powder on your face starting at the forehead and working downward.

3. Open the blush container. Swirl the blush brush across the blush powder.

4. Touch the apples of your cheekbones with your fingers. Apply the blush to the apples of your cheekbones in a swirling motion.

5. Dab your lips with cream to powder foundation. This will hide your natural lip line. Allow the makeup to set for one minute before proceeding.

6. Draw on the bow-style lips using a red lip liner. Outline the center portion of the lip, top and bottom. The idea is to create the illusion of small child like lips.

7. Fill in the lips you drew on with a lip brush and lipstick. Dab the lip brush on the lipstick tube and paint the color on.

8. Line the top lashes and bottom lashes of your eyes with black eyeliner. Dot black eyeliner into the eye creases too.

9. Use a sponge-tipped applicator to smudge the eyeliner slightly. Apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes. Allow the first coat to dry for one minute then apply a second coat.
