Hotels With Luggage Storage Near Rue De Rivoli In Paris

The street is named after Napoleon's victory over the Austrians at the Battle of Rivoli, Italy.

Authorized for construction by Napoleon in 1801, the 1.25-mile-long Rue de Rivoli is now one of the most prominent commercial streets in the French capital. The street is home to the Louvre Museum, the Tuileries Garden and a concentrated collection of tourist stops and cafes. Its architecture is a confluence of Roman, Gothic and Neoclassical designs, and the Rue de Rivoli's buildings now house ritzy hotels and souvenir shops. Within the area of Rue de Rivoli are a variety of hotels with luggage storage for tourists looking to extend their sightseeing before or after their hotel stay.

Hotel Saint-Louis Marais

Tradition holds that the first stone of the Notre Dame Cathedral was laid in 1163.

Nestled in one of the oldest quarters in Paris, the Marais District, this hotel is less than a half mile from the one-time residence of author Victor Hugo, the Rue de Rivoli and the Op ra Bastille, the home base of the National Opera of Paris. The Hotel Saint-Louis features 14 simply furnished guest rooms, which include flat-screen TVs and wireless Internet access. Breakfast and a shuttle service to area airports and train stations are available for a fee, and complimentary luggage storage is provided. The hotel is under a mile from the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Mus e Carnavalet, or the Paris History Museum. Housed in both an 11th-century and 17th-century mansion, this museum chronicles the history of the French capital from its origins up to the present day.

Hotel Paris Rivoli

Built in the 12th century, the Louvre houses 35,000 works of art.

This three-star hotel is located directly on the Rue de Rivoli. The Hotel Paris Rivoli offers 29 individually designed guest rooms in one of three types: single, double or twin. Each room is furnished with a flat-panel television, and luggage storage is available upon request. A cafe-style breakfast of yogurts, bakery items and fruit juice is served daily in the hotel's intimate lounge, while light meals and refreshments are available into the evening. The Hotel Paris Rivoli is less than 10 minutes from both the Louvre and the Sainte-Chapelle, or "Holy Chapel." Commissioned by Louis IX and erected between 1242 and 1248, this remarkable Gothic chapel was built to house Jesus' crown of thorns and a fragment of the cross upon which he was crucified.

Novotel Paris les Halles

Construction commenced on Saint-Sulpice in 1646 and was completed around 1745.

The four-star Novotel Paris les Halles is under half a mile from the Rue de Rivoli and a five-minute walk from the Pompidou Centre, home to the National Museum of Modern Art and the Public Information Library, or BPI. Each of the hotel's 285 individually decorated guest rooms and suites includes either an LCD or plasma-screen TV and Internet access. Luggage storage is available through the concierge. The on-site La Place restaurant serves a selection of seasonal specialties, while its bar mixes cocktails and serves light meals and bar bites to the tune of its live musicians.

The Louvre is under a half mile from the hotel, while the late-Baroque parish church of St. Sulpice is less than a mile away. Called the "Cathedral of the Rive Gauche" after the Seine's southern bank, Saint-Sulpice is one of the largest churches in the city and contains a collection of Delacroix frescoes.
