Oahu North Shore beaches atract many tourists.
Haleiwa is a small town on the North Shore of Oahu Island, Hawaii. Located a one-hour drive from Waikiki, Haleiwa is a laid back surf destination that attracts day-trippers making the scenic 112 miles of the circle island ride. Kamehameha Highway is the town's main street, where visitors can find a selection of restaurants and cafes. No hotels exist in town, however. Most nearby accommodation options are privately owned rentals or rooms, generally booked through agencies.
Turtle Bay Resort
Turtle Bay Resort is situated at Kawela Bay, a 20-minutes drive from Haleiwa. At Turtle Bay, guests can choose from 375 rooms, 31 suites and 42 beach cottages and villas. Suites have an iPod docking station, a mini-bar and private verandas, while the beach cottages have fresh fruit delivered daily, direct access to the beach, hardwood floors and marble bathrooms. The villas can accommodate up to 10 people and offer private pools and Jacuzzis, a courtyard and a barbecue area. Eight bars and restaurants are available at Turtle Bay, including Leonardo, serving Italian food; Twenty One, specializing in Asian cuisine and Ola, with local dishes and seafood. Helicopter tours, surf lessons and a fitness center are available to guests. Golf and tennis courses are available as well.
Kalani Lodging
Located in the small community of Pupukea, only eight miles or a 15-minute drive from Haleiwa, Kalani Lodging offers five rooms, a master studio and two houses for rent. Kalani does not provide breakfast. This is a self-catering accommodation, meaning that guests staying in one of the rooms share a kitchen and a terrace area, locally called "lanai." The master studio has a kitchenette, private bathroom, air-conditioning, dining and living room. The Red Ginger House has five bedrooms, private parking, gardens and an outside hammock area, while the Sea Scape House offers accommodations for up to 16 people. Rooms and houses are a five-minute walk from the white sands and turquoise waters of Sunset Beach.
Team Real Estate
Team Real Estate is a real estate agency that holds 20 rental houses near Haleiwa. Hale Nani is a four-bedroom beach front property located in Mokuleia, five miles from Haleiwa. The house has a fully-equipped kitchen, flat panel high-definition TV, wireless Internet access and a DVD and Blue-ray player. The open floor plan allows guests to enjoy ocean views from the kitchen, living and dining areas. Conveniently located within walking distance from Haleiwa town center, Hale Kai has three bedrooms and can accommodate up to six people.
Backpackers Vacation Inn
Located at Three Tables Beach, six miles from Haleiwa, Backpackers Vacation Inn offers budget accommodations in the form of shared rooms, but also has private rooms, cabins and studios. Cabins are located just across from the beach, a top destination for snorkeling on Oahu Island. Each cabin offers large decks with ocean views, as well as a fully-equipped kitchen and can accommodate up to eight people. Linens and towels are also provided. Shared rooms are located in a building near the beach; it has a large courtyard with picnic tables and a barbecue area. Sheets are provided free of charge and guest use a shared kitchen to prepare their meals.
