World Drive is a thoroughfare in greater Orlando, Florida, and connects the Celebration community to the Walt Disney World Resort. Most hotels on or near World Drive are in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom area. World Drive also passes by other areas of the Walt Disney World Resort, including Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Part of the road turns into Floridian Way, which encircles Disney's Seven Seas Lagoon.
Disney's Contemporary Resort
The only accommodation with a World Drive address is Disney's Contemporary Resort, located in the Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom area. This 15-story resort hotel has rooms with contemporary d cor and views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake, according to Frommer's. Hotel features include two outdoor pools, arcade room and playground. On-site dining is available at Chef Mickey's, which caters to families, and Wave, a vibrant restaurant with seafood cuisine; the hotel offers 24-hour room service. The hotel connects with the monorail transportation system, which offers access to other areas of Walt Disney World.
Walt Disney World Dolphin
The Walt Disney World Dolphin, a Sheraton hotel, is half of the Dolphin and Swan Resort in Walt Disney World's Epcot area; the hotel is within walking distance of World Drive. This hotel offers massages and body treatments at the Mandara Spa. Dining options include Italian cuisine at Il Mulino, seafood at Todd English's Bluezoo and steak entrees at Shula's Steakhouse. The hotel has two Governor's Suites overlooking Crescent Lake and four 1,085-square-foot Presidential Suites; both suites have parlors and dining room tables. Epcot attractions, including Spaceship Earth and the World Showcase, 11 pavilions with different d cor themes, are within walking distance of the Dolphin.
Walt Disney World Swan
The other half of Walt Disney World's Dolphin and Swan Resort is the Swan Hotel by Westin. The hotel is a five-minute walk from World Drive. Attractions at this hotel include 45-foot swan statues and seashell fountains. Hotel amenities include a man-made beach, which it shares with the Dolphin, fitness room and concierge service. American cuisine is available at Garden Grove, which offers breakfast and dinner buffets. Disney World sites near the hotel include the Fantasia Gardens miniature golf course and the Atlantic City-themed Boardwalk, a stretch of restaurants and boutique shops.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort
The Grand Floridian Resort is in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom area, less than five minutes from World Drive. According to Fodor's, this Victorian-style resort hotel is the flagship lodging option in Walt Disney World and has the best guest rooms. This accommodation is on the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon and offers a private beach for its guests. Fine dining is available at Victoria and Albert's Restaurant. The Grand Floridian is on the monorail route, which offers access throughout Walt Disney World Resort. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the 18-hole Oak Trail Golf Course.
