Convert MP4 to a MP3 format for MP3 player compatibility.
While MP4 audio files are common for newer media players, MP4 songs must be converted into MP3s before they can be played on MP3 players. Audio converter programs can be downloaded online and convert your MP4 songs to an MP3 format, which is compatible with older media players. These conversion programs are often shareware programs and require a purchased license to convert files without leaving a watermark or altering the file. Once your music is converted, syncing it to your media player can be accomplished by connecting the media player to your computer via USB cable.
Instructions
1. Use Switch Sound Converter. This PC- and Mac-compatible audio conversion program by NCH Software supports popular audio formats, including MP4s, and allows you to convert individual tracks or playlists into an MP3 format. Open the program and click the "Add File" icon to select your MP4 file. Select your output destination folder and select ".mp3" as your output format. Click the "Convert" button to convert the audio file.
2. Use ImTOO Audio Encoder. As a basic audio converter, the ImTOO program supports MP4 to MP3 conversion and is available for computers running Windows XP SP 2 or later. To convert your MP4 file, click the "Add" tab on the program and window and select your MP4 file. Select ".mp3" from the Encoder drop-down menu and click the "Encode" tab. This program is also suitable for converting large music libraries, as it supports batch file conversions.
3. Use OJOsoft MP3 Converter. The OJOsoft MP3 Converter program provides audio conversion between popular formats, as well as audio ripping from popular video formats. Convert your MP4 file by clicking the "Browse" button and selecting the MP4 file you want to convert, and click the "To MP3" button at the top of the program window. Select your audio bitrate from the drop-down menu next to "MP3 Profile" and click the "Convert" button.
