Hotels At The Disney Resort

Staying at the Disney Resort is convenient for visiting the Disney parks.


The Disney Resort is one of the most diverse and family-friendly places to stay when visiting Walt Disney World. The Disney Resort is made up of a conglomeration of different hotels of various themes and prices. These hotels are classified by Disney as value, moderate or deluxe.


Value


There are five hotels that fall into the value category at the Disney Resort. Each feature at least two pools, shopping, a food court and an arcade. Most rooms include either two double beds or a king bed, but some have a limited number of family-style suites or larger rooms. The first three of these hotels are located in the Disney Animal Kingdom Area.


Disney's All-Star Movies Resort is themed on some popular Disney movies, including "Toy Story" and "Fantasia." Disney's All-Star Music Resort has a music theme, including a wide variety of many types of music. Disney's All-Star Sports Resort is themed in the style of sports, highlighting baseball, basketball, football, surfing and tennis.


The other two hotels are located in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Area. The Disney's Art of Animation Resort is under construction and scheduled to open in summer 2012. Disney's Pop Century Resort highlights popular culture of the 20th century.


Moderate


There are five hotels that fall into the moderate category at the Disney Resort, which are more expensive than the value hotels, but cheaper than the Deluxe hotels.


The cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are real cabins set up in a forested area near the Magic Kingdom. The cabins create the feeling of the American frontier, while providing all the comforts of current day. The hotel has lake access for water sports and fishing.


Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is themed as both a relaxing, tropical hotel, as well as a pirate hotel, where certain rooms are decked out in pirate style around a pirate-themed pool area. This hotel is located in the Epcot area.


Disney's Coronado Springs Resort has a Southwest feel to it and highlights a South American theme. It features a Mayan themed pool, Spanish-style guest rooms and is located in the Animal Kingdom area.


Disney's Port Orleans Resort is set up as two hotels, one in the French Quarter and one Riverside. The hotels are located in the Downtown Disney area and have a New Orleans theme. Both feature a themed pool and are walking distance from one another.


Deluxe


There are eight hotels at that fall into the deluxe category at the Disney Resort. The most expensive hotels at the Resort, these start at around $240 a night as of fall 2010. Each hotel features dining and a luxury pool.


In the Disney's Animal Kingdom area, there is Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in the preserve. It provides stunning views of the park.


Located in the Epcot area are three more deluxe hotels. Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Disney's Yacht Club Resort. All three honor life on the waterfront.


The final hotels are in the Magic Kingdom area. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the flagship of the Disney Resort. It is Victorian themed and is full of luxury items. Disney's Polynesian Resort has a Hawaiian theme and a Volcano pool area. The ultra-modern Contemporary Resort has the Disney Monorail running right through the lobby. Disney's Wilderness Lodge celebrates living together with nature while highlighting the frontier life.
