Instructions

1. Place an opened paper grocery sack in front of you. Pinch the sides together and make two diagonal cuts to remove the top corners of the sack. Staple the sides closed, leaving an opening at the top.

2. Fill the paper sack with party favors, wrapped treats and candies. Fold the top of the sack over twice. Staple closed.

3. Make a purse handle. Cut a 24-inch strip (2 inches wide) from a piece of fabric. Staple the ends of the fabric strip to the top corners of the sack. For extra security, use five or six staples on each side.

4. Use brightly colored tissue paper to decorate your purse pinata.

Cut 3-inch squares of colored tissue paper. Crumple the squares. Glue the squares of tissue paper in layers onto the paper bag until all the sides of the pinata are covered. Allow the glue to dry, then cover and glue the bottom of the sack with tissue paper squares.
