Helicopter Tours Of The Big Island From Kona Hi

The Big Island of Hawaii provides some of the world's most majestic sites, such as the still active Kilauea Volcano, black sand beaches and hundreds of waterfalls. Many companies provide helicopter tours that depart from the Kona Airport and include views of the coastlines, volcanoes, rainforest and deep valley walls. Several tours are open to all ages and even include complimentary tours for children who are able to sit on an adult's lap.


Paradise Helicopters


Paradise Helicopters provides a daily two-hour helicopter tour of the Big Island from the Kona Airport. You'll fly over a total of five volcanoes, waterfalls and both white and black beaches. During the tour you'll also pass through 11 climate zones and over 2,000 ft. valley walls. This six-person helicopter tour includes a two-way headset with the pilot; a narration of the sights is played during the tour. The tour is open to children, adults and senior citizens; a weight restriction for guests over 265 lbs. may be enforced. The company recommends checking in at the Kona Airport at least 45 minutes in advance.


Sunshine Helicopters


Organizing helicopter tours throughout the Big Island of Hawaii since 1985, Sunshine Helicopters offers daily one-hour and 45-minute helicopter tours of Kilauea Volcano. The Volcano Deluxe Helicopter Tour departs from Kona Airport and travels to the eastern area of the island for bird's-eye views of the Kohala Coast, located on the northwestern edge, and the Hamakua Coast, situated on the northeastern edge. During the tour, you'll fly over the Kohala Mountains for views of hidden waterfalls and the rainforest. Children two and under fly free when sitting on an adult's lap. Passengers that weigh 240 lbs. or more may be required to purchase an additional seat.


All Big Island Hawaii Tours


All Big Island Hawaii Tours provides a four-hour Volcano Helicopter and Private Paradise Landing tour which operates daily. This tour departs from Kona Airport and travels north to the Kohala Coast for views of a 400 ft. volcano and the active Kilauea Volcano. At one point during the tour, the helicopter lands near the Honokanenui Valley. You'll have approximately 45 minutes to explore the tropical hideaway before returning to the Kona Airport. The tour can comfortably accommodate six guests; passengers weighing over 265 lbs. may have to purchase an additional seat. A two-way radio will be given out to each passenger to correspond with the pilot throughout the tour.
