Create My Own Event Flyers

There are several ways to make event flyers.

Flyers are used as a form of advertisement for different kinds of events. They can be hung up around town, left in business locations, schools and religious buildings. Event flyers include at least the important information on the event (location and any cover charges). Sometimes a phone number will be included for an RSVP. Have an idea about how many flyers you need and the prime locations where you want to put them. There are several ways to make event flyers. The important thing to remember is be creative and have fun with it.

Instructions

1. Sort through magazines for words or pictures, or find pictures of your own and pick a few to include on your flyer. Cut them out of the magazine or crop them as desired. These words and pictures should illustrate the event. The flyer words that you will type are all about the relevant information that needs to be known in order to come to your event. Please do not get these confused.

2. Type the event name, location, cover fees and contact information (if needed) in a large font. Print it out. These can be the same font size or different. You can make the name of the event larger and the rest of the information smaller. The type size of the event name should be at least 26-point. The other information should not be less than 16-point. This information should take up most of the center of the page with an approximate border no more than 4 inches all the way around the paper.

3. Cut out the event information with patterned or regular scissors. Patterned scissors are frequently found in fabric stores. They cut in patterns like waves or jagged edges. These scissors will give your cutouts different border shapes.

4. Place the event information on a white piece of printer paper as you would like it to appear. Do not secure at this time.

5. Place the pictures and words you found around the event information. Once you have everything laid out and in the design that you like, secure with clear tape.

6. Put the colored paper in the copier tray and print copies of your original flyer on all colors of paper.
