Create Ticket Party Invitations

Make up ticket party invitations.

You are planning an event with a grand theme and would like unique invitations to correspond with your theme. A fun way to play up the event is to create a party invitation that looks like an event ticket. With some patience, you can create personalized ticket party invitations using Microsoft Word and your computer. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Open a new document in Microsoft Word and insert a text box. Size the text box as you deem appropriate all the while keeping in mind it should look like a ticket.

2. Format the text box by right clicking on the text box and left clicking on "Format text box." You will now be able to change the background color of the ticket, the line color, weight and style.

3. Personalize the ticket by adding another text box inside of the one you just created. In this new text box you will type up the party info. Choose whatever font you feel is appropriate, resize, and move your text boxes as needed. You can go back and forth between the two text boxes by clicking on the borders.

4. Make the line on the inside text box invisible. This can be accomplished by formatting this text box by following Step 2 and marking "Line Color" as "No Line."

5. Insert another text box at the bottom of the ticket invitation which will hold a UPC or barcode symbol. Format the text box as appropriate.

6. Search for an image of a UPC or barcode to download and/or copy and paste at the bottom of the ticket. This makes the ticket look more authentic.

7. Insert text boxes either on each side of the ticket invitation or at the top and/or bottom to insert images related to the theme of the party.

8. Save and print your ticket party invitations on cardstock. You may consider adding a magnet to the back for your guests to attach to their refrigerator as a visual reminder of your event.
