Create Your Own Party Supplies

Making your own party supplies is simple and inexpensive with a little creativity.

While party supply stores offer a wide variety of decorations and supplies, there are times when they just don't have what you need, whether it's because of your theme, preferences or price range. Fortunately, with a little creativity, you can create your own party supplies without breaking the bank or spending too much time on them. You'll give your party an original feel and look, while impressing your friends and family with your crafting skill. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Find a photo that matches your theme on a stock photo site such as istockphoto.com or thinkstock.com. Print out the photo on sticker paper in a size that will fit around plastic or paper cups and plates.

2. Instead of buying confetti and table cloths, use a solid colored cloth with place mats in another color related to your theme. For example, a pink table cloth and red place mats for a Valentine's Day party, or a red table cloth with green place mats for a Christmas party.

3. Create your own candy swag bags by placing the gifts or candy between two pieces of tissue, twisting them on the top and securing them with a piece of ribbon. Again, the tissue and ribbon can be done in contrasting colors to go with the theme of your party. The more of these small bags you create, the more they can be used as decorations as well. Use them as place settings or scatter them around the table for confetti-like decorations.
