Create A Flyer

Create a Flyer

Flyers are used to advertise, to announce events, or to aid in the search for missing pets and people. Flyers are a low-cost way for any business to spread the word about its products and services. Flyers are on our cars, pinned to bulletin boards, hung on telephone poles, and sitting in stacks at just about every retail store you can imagine. If you've got something to say or something to sell, learn create a flyer that will help you spread the news.

Instructions

Create a Flyer

1. Design your flyer. You can do this with Microsoft Word, if you have it. If not, just about any word-processing software will do the trick. Start a new document. Your flyer will be 81/2 by 11. Write your text first. Experiment with the font you want to use and what size you want it to be. You'll want to use at least a 48-point size to allow the flyer to be read from a distance. Size the font so your lines of text break evenly. It will give the flyer a neater, more eye-appealing look.

2. Add clip art to your flyer. It's easy to do this in just about any word processor. Click Insert, browse to the clip art you want to use, and select it to have it put into your document. Clip art makes your flyer more appealing. You don't want people to pick your flyer up and immediately toss it away. You want to grab their attention. Use graphics that visually represent what the flyer is about. Don't overdue it, though. Too many graphics makes the flyer look like an amateur job and will be an overload on the consumer's eyes.

3. Use a border. Nothing fancy or overwhelming. A simple line border, or maybe a line border with a little image in each corner will make the flyer more attractive and noticeable without going over the top.

4. Print your flyer on colored paper. Colored paper stands out more. Your flyer is more likely to be looked at on colored paper. Choose a color that doesn't make it hard to read your flyer. If you want to use a dark color, choose a lighter font color. If you have a large quantity of flyers to print, a professional printer may be a better option. You'll use less printer ink and put less wear on your printer.
