Instructions

1. Design the baby shower invitation. Consider the theme of the shower, and tie it into the design of the invitation. Consider pictures, such as animals and baby rattles, to add a decorative touch. Use colors indicative of the baby's sex or gender-neutral color schemes. Include information pertinent to the baby shower, such as date, location and time for the party. List a contact person, along with their telephone number or email address, to whom guests can send their RSVPs. List details including places registered and special instructions for gift cards and diaper purchases, such as sensitive skin products only.

2. Locate or purchase a software program capable of designing graphics. Alternatively, if you want you want to use an online resource, skip to Step 3.

Use a basic word processing program that allows for the insertion of pictures, or purchase a design software program. Search for a software program that provides clip art as part of the package or allows access to online clip art libraries. Insert graphics and text information using the various insertion options in your selected program. Some options include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher and Print Artist.

3. Visit a website that handles digital photo printing. Options include Snapfish and Shutterfly. These websites often provide templates that will help you design and create a printable baby shower invitation. Select the type of invitation you want to use, and follow the provided prompts to add pictures and information to the invitation. Insert an appropriate picture, such as the picture received during an ultrasound, and add the necessary information for the baby shower.

4. Print the invitations you have designed. You have several options to print them: at home, at a print shop or through an online digital image processing store.

Use your home printer to print baby shower invitations designed with a home computer software program. Use quality card stock.

Alternatively, save your invitation design to a USB drive or CD, and take it to a local print shop to have the invitations printed professionally. Ask staff to include envelopes for mailing the invitations if necessary.
