Party supplies such as decorations and favors can help to create a great party atmosphere. Whether you're throwing a birthday party, a theme party or a holiday party, there are numerous ways you can create your own party supplies. One option is to create your own party supplies online using various templates that match your theme. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
Getting Ready
1. Choose a party theme. Picking a theme for your party can narrow your options for the types of party supplies you need to create. For example, if you're hosting a cupcake theme birthday party then you can look for invitations, favors, napkin rings and more with the cupcake theme.
2. Find templates and ideas for creating party supplies. Search online for do-it-yourself (DIY) party invitations, decorations, costumes, and games. There are numerous online sites (see resources below) where you can download party templates or find inspiration in turning everyday items into party supplies.
3. Print template. Once you find the template you want to use, download it or print it out and follow the assembly instructions. See the next two sections for creating a favor box and cone hat online.
Birthday Candle Favor Box
4. Print template. Print the birthday candle favor box template on an 8.5-by-11-inch sheet of card stock. The template is located at http://familycrafts.about.com/library/projects/blbdcupckbox1.htm.
5. Cut out the favor box. Use scissors to cut along the black line of the favor box.
6. Fold. Fold along the dotted lines so that the design is facing out.
7. Glue flaps. Glue the inside of the flaps together so that it forms a box. Do not glue the top flap, which is how you open and close the favor box.
Cupcake Party Hat
8. Print template. Print the template onto a white piece of 8.5-by-11-inch card stock. The template is located at http://familycrafts.about.com/library/projects/blbdcupckpartyht.htm.
9. Cut out the hat. Use scissors to cut along the dark black lines.
10. Form a cone. With the design facing out, roll the card stock so it forms a cone.
11. Glue. Glue one of the straight edges to the other straight edge on the inside of the hat. Place a clothespin to the glued area and allow it to dry.
12. Attach elastic band. Take an elastic strap and staple one end to the bottom of each side of the hat. This is a chin strap to hold the cone party hat on the head.
