Instructions
1. Arrange three clean trays for the pineapple tree and fruit to rest on, and place them on the table so they do not have to be moved after the tree is constructed. Center the trays in the middle of the table. Use the middle of the three trays for the pineapple trees. The two trays side trays will flank the tree and display various fruits.
2. Cut the tops and bottoms off of six pineapples. Keep your cuts strait. Cut your foam ball in half, and place it on the middle tray.
3. Use a metal skewer that is long enough to hold three pineapples vertically, with 5 or 6 additional inches for anchoring the end of it into the foam. Stab the center of the pineapples with the skewer and thread the skewer through the middle. Repeat this with the other three pineapples and the other skewer.
4. Place the tail end of the skewers into the foam half. Hold the pineapples on the skewer as you jab the skewer all the way into the foam until it hits the tray. Repeat with the other skewered pineapples. Keep the pineapple skewers as close to the middle of the foam and as close to each other as possible, as this makes the design sturdy.
5. Jab the palm leaves with toothpicks, then push them into the tops of the pineapples. Hold the pineapples still as you do this. Do not let the skewered pineapples wiggle at all, because this will cause the skewer to loosen at the base of the foam. Push directly down as you jab, which should prevent any loosening of the skewer. Use as many leaves as you wish to create lush, green foliage.
6. Cut up the other fruits and remove some grapes from the vine. Stab them with toothpicks and push the toothpicks into your foam, covering the foam with the fruit. Fill up the rest of the trays with fruits of your choice.
