Make A Luau Card

A homemade luau card can add a personal touch to an invitation.

Planning a luau party can be exciting. The decorations and food for a luau have an exotic air about them. Grass skirts and leis may even be provided for the guests to wear. The first impression your invited guests will have of this upcoming event is the luau card they receive. A simple decorative homemade card can add a personal touch to the luau invitation. It is also an activity that young children will be eager to help with. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Fold a sheet of yellow construction paper in half on a flat hard surface. Press the crease in place with your fingers.

2. Place a CD in the center of the folded construction paper. Trace around the edge of the CD to make a five inch circle. Remove the CD.

3. Cut around the edge of the circle with scissors. Make sure to cut through both pieces of the construction paper.

4. Use a black crayon to draw two black circle eyes and a black smiley mouth on the circle. This will look like the sun with a smiley face on it.

5. Open the card to the inside. Use a glue stick to cover about an inch on the bottom of the left inside of the card. Sprinkle gold glitter on top of the glue to create the look of sand. Let the glue dry for 10 to 15 minutes.

6. Use a black pen to write you are invited to luau above the sand. On the right inside of the card write the time, date and location of the luau. Include an RSVP line with your telephone number. Refold the card. The card is now complete .
