Have A Hawaiian Luau Party

Themed parties involve creative thinking or thinking outside of the box, due to the host having to create an environment that makes the attendees feel like they are transferred to another location. This type of thinking can be a good tool when you want to have a Hawaiian luau party. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Decide whether your party will be a large event or an intimate party. Identifying the number of guests will aid you as you make additional party preparations.

2. Determine your budget. Make sure that you stay within your budget. Include the cost of the venue, decorations, menu and gifts when determining your budget.

3. Select a venue. This can be your back yard, your local beach or your neighborhood pool house. Make sure that it is large enough to accommodate your guests.

4. Select your decorations. Your local party store can be a good source for most of the supplies that you need. Items like Tiki candles, palm trees, limbo sticks, drinks with umbrellas in them and table cloths. Plates and napkins that have floral print can help to enhance the luau party environment. Purchase a cd that has Hawaiian themed music.

5. Select your menu. This needs to be Hawaiian luau themed. Polynesian Pupu platter, Poi, coconuts, pineapples, Huli Huli chicken and any other items that you feel would enhance the luau. Drinks should include lots of juices.

6. Involve the guests. Provide the guests with small trinkets to make them feel like they really are at a Hawaiian luau. Grass skirts and leis provide the guests with souvenirs to take home with them. Place disposable cameras on the tables allowing the guest to take pictures. The memories that are captured will be from different angles and points of view. Have the guests limbo.
