Christmas parties can be a lot of fun, but they can also be very repetitive. If you want to host a Christmas party that is different than the ones your friends host, consider making your party a Christmas photo scavenger hunt. The Christmas photo scavenger hunt requires players to divide up into teams and using a digital camera take photos of different Christmas related light displays and items in the local area. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Invite a group of friends over for a Christmas Photo Scavenger Hunt. The ideal number of guests should be at least 12, and no more than 24.
2. Create a list of items that your guests should take photographs of using digital cameras. Increase the size of your list by including various light displays. Some examples are trains, snowflakes, colored lights, snowmen, candy canes and so on. To come up with ideas for your list, drive around your neighborhood and the surrounding area looking for light displays that are unique. You can either supply the digital cameras yourself or ask guests to bring their own digital cameras.
3. Assign point values to each of the different items. List higher point values next to the items that you feel will be harder for each team to find, and lower point values for the easier light displays for them to locate.
4. Divide the teams up into teams of three or four people each. Make sure you have one person that is willing to drive and one person with a digital camera on each team. Choose the drivers to be the team leaders. Let them choose people's names out of a hat. If a team is formed and nobody on the team has a digital camera, either supply them with one of your own or allow them to trade a player with a team that has multiple players with digital cameras.
5. Give each team a copy of the Christmas photo scavenger hunt list. Let them know how long they will have, and that each item must be photographed using that team's digital camera. Determine the amount of points that will be deducted from a team's score for every five minutes they are late returning to your home.
6. Invite the teams to gather around a computer and hook up each team's camera one at a time to the computer to view the photographs. Score the list for each team based on the photographs that they took and deduct any points for returning to your house past the agreed upon deadline.
7. Add up the points for each team, and determine the winning team based on which team has the most points. If multiple teams tie, the team that is involved in the tie that returned to your home first are the winners.
8. Give the members of the winning team a small prize. Photograph frames, candy or gift cards make great prizes to hand out.
