Tactical handgun accessory rails allow you to attach a light below the muzzle of your firearm. You can also attach a laser pointer, or even a forward grip on some models. Tactical rails come in a number of designs. Much like choosing stereo cables, though, your accessory must match your rail design to fit on your gun. Smith & Wesson produces the Sigma handgun series. These guns have a unique tactical rail beneath the muzzle which is not compatible with most accessories. If you want to fit most lights beneath your gun, you'll need an aftermarket Picatinny rail attachment. This can be installed in a couple minutes.
Instructions
1. Remove the gun's magazine. Unload your gun by ejecting the magazine and opening the chamber. Clear any ammunition away from your gun before attaching the rail.
2. Place the two halves of your accessory rail over the Sigma rail. The pieces should fit together like a puzzle. The bottom of the rail should be "ribbed" with five indentations between rows of raised plastic. This ribbing should extend toward the trigger guard.
3. Insert the screws through the side of the rail. Hold the nuts against the opposite side and use the included tool to drive the screws through the nuts, fastening the rail halves together and attaching the rail to the gun.
