Even though most Wal-Mart employees, save for management staff, don’t tend to wear suits at their daily job routine, dressing professionally for your job interview at a store could help you land the job. No matter what position you are applying for or in what area, dressing appropriately will show the interview staff you are serious about your application and about the job. No matter what budget you are on, you can always afford to dress clean and nice.
Instructions
1. Dress up. If possible, wear at least a suit jacket with a nice pair of slacks or a skirt.
2. Be modest. Wear solid colors, stripes or soft patterns on shirts and bottoms. Avoid wording and bold, bright patterns and colors. Also, make sure your clothing covers you and doesn’t show inappropriate areas of your body.
3. Be fitted. Wear clothing that is fitted, but not too tight and not at all baggy.
4. Focus on your footwear. Ladies, wear closed-toed dress shoes. Men, wear a nice pair of dress shoes or boots. Shine or clean your shoes free of scratches and debris before your interview.
5. Style your hair. If needed, get a fresh haircut before the interview date. Ladies, pull your hair back or keep it out of your face. Men, keep a clean cut, preferably short.
6. Bring accessories. If available, bring your day timer and a briefcase or leather folder with paper and a pen to take notes or fill out any further paperwork.
