Instructions

SpongeBob SquarePants Party

1. Make SpongeBob SquarePants party invitations. It helps to use a picture of SpongeBob SquarePants as inspiration for these. Cut a 3-by-5 inch SpongeBob shape from a sheet of craft foam and paint with acrylic paints. Use pipe cleaners for legs and make a tie from red construction paper. Glue a small 3-by-5 card on the back of your SpongeBob and write the party details inside. Mail in a padded envelope or in a small box 2 to 3 weeks before your party.

2. Make one of SpongeBob's favorite meals--crabby patties. Mix 1 pound of real or imitation crab meat, 2 tbsp. of your favorite seafood seasoning blend, 3 eggs and 1 cup breadcrumbs. The mixture should be thick enough to form into patties. If it's too runny, add cornstarch 1 tbps. at a time until you get a workable consistency. Cook on the grill or on the stove. Crabby patties can be eaten on a bun with tartar sauce or served alone.

3. Decorate your table with a house just like SpongBob's--a pineapple house. You can also simulate Squidward's house (an Easter Island-type head) and Patrick's house (a purple hill) by using a variety of arts and crafts materials. Use your imagination to create replicas of their houses and of the Krusty Krab. Pictures of these houses are available online, in print and in the many licensed products.

4. Order SpongeBob SquarePants decorations from any website that specializes in themed party decor, or pick them up at your local party supply store. SpongeBob games, balloons, streamers, napkins, party plates, cake toppers, tablecloths and all sorts of other SpongeBob items are available for purchase. Just be sure to allow time for shipping and handling. You might also choose to decorate in an underwater theme, with shades of blue streamers and decorative fish and seaweed.

5. Play SpongeBob SquarePants-themed bubble games. Hang a hula hoop from the ceiling or a tree (this is a great outdoor activity), then hand out bubbles and blowers and see who can blow a bubble that floats through the hoop from the farthest spot away. You can also judge who can blow the biggest bubble and who can make the highest bubble tower with a straw. For this game, pour bubble solution on a plate, put one end of the straw in the bubble solution and blow through it into the bubble solution.

6. Play "Squidward, may I?" by changing the name of "Mother, May I?" in the popular kids game to SpongeBob's boss's name. You can also turn a simple game of tag into a SpongeBob SquarePants game by making the person who's "it" be Squidward instead.

7. Turn your helium balloons into jellyfish by taping SpongeBob streamers to the sides. You can also decorate the room with streamers. Two shades of blue streamers hung from the ceiling will give your SpongeBob party guests the feeling that they're really under the sea.
